Montgomery Zoo Reviews

The zoo was alright overall, but I’m not sure if we just happened to visit on a bad day or what. A lot of the areas looked kind of dirty and not very well taken care of. The bathrooms had a bad smell, there was trash in a few spots, and some of the paths felt a bit neglected. I hate to be too harsh, but it definitely seemed like the place could use more upkeep.

We had a good time at the zoo and the place itself was nice, but the ticket prices felt a bit high for what you get. After paying, I also felt a little unsure about whether it was really worth the cost, which kind of took away from the experience. It’s a nice visit, but I’d feel better about going again if the pricing was more reasonable.

I liked that there were a lot of different animals to check out, so I didn’t get bored walking around. A few parts didn’t really impress me, but overall I still had a fun visit and felt like it was worth my time...

The staff were super nice and really helpful. Made everything easy, honestly. Big thumbs up!

Parking was rough for us. We probably circled around for about 10 minutes trying to find a decent spot, and the setup didn’t feel very wheelchair friendly. There seemed to be only a few accessible options, and getting around wasn’t as easy as it should’ve been.

The zoo itself was fine, like we still got to see the animals and had an okay time, but yeah... the food situation wasn’t great. The lines felt really slow, and then once we finally got our burgers and fries, it was basic and still somehow expensive. Also, the drinks weren’t even that cold, which on a hot day is kind of a big deal.

The bathrooms could’ve used more attention too, and a few areas just felt a little worn down or neglected. I also kept looking for shady spots to sit for a minute, and there really weren’t many. So overall, not a terrible visit, but the amenities definitely made it less enjoyable than it could’ve been.

We took the kids to Montgomery Zoo last weekend and had a really good time. I always wonder if I’m overestimating these kinds of outings just because the kids aren’t complaining, but this one felt easy and enjoyable. It was simple to walk around, the animals seemed well cared for, and there was enough shade when it got hot. Our youngest loved the train ride, which might’ve been the highlight of the whole day. The staff we talked to were friendly too. Overall, a solid family day out, and I’m sure we’d go back.
